Work undertaken at Ulster University
In April 2010, I transferred to the central Information Services Directorate of the University of Ulster to perform the function of the University's Information Assurance Manager. Before that, I had worked on the University's Magee campus managing a small technical support and development team for over 25 years. I was the third computing staff member hired, and was for many years the longest serving staff member in computer science on the campus.
It's hard for me to throw out materials that I have spent time on developing, and over the years, I have had the opportunity to become involved in a variety of roles, and I have placed some of the artifacts of my past work study and research on-line via the links below.
Be warned, some of these documents are only of historical interest!
Sundry project descriptions and documentation.
- Old Coursework
These are materials developed in 1998 and 1999. Some topics still may have some resonance- emotive computing, Internet radio, multi-function handheld devices, multi-format/multi-protocol search engines and the advocacy of virtual worlds for education in special circumstances.
There is no vanguard, it's just that some arrive late!
